Arrival Checklist

Step by step, from before you fly to your first month

1. What you can bring into Australia

On the plane you get a form. Tick YES if you carry any food, plant, wood or animal product. Ticking YES is free and safe. Sealed shop snacks, tea and coffee are usually fine. Spices, rice, dal and home cooked food must be ticked YES. Meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and eggs are taken off you.

If you do not tick YES, you can be fined at the airport. On a visa, your visa can be cancelled and you may not be allowed back for up to three years.

Time needed: 10 minutes, before you pack
