Featured: seven days at the top for your job or business.

Featured, called Spotlight in the app, is the only paid option on Chaana: a 7-day placement at the top of a suburb for a job ad or a business listing, marked with a gold Featured badge. Joining, browsing and posting stay free. Prices start from a few dollars a week and are shown before you pay.

What you can do.

What you get

The top of the suburb for 7 days: Your job ad or business sits above the others in that suburb, with the gold Featured badge.
More suburbs, or a whole state: Add extra suburbs (up to 7 for a job, up to 15 for a business), or feature a business across a whole state.
The Sponsored rail and Home: Featured businesses appear in the Featured Partners rail at the top of the directory and in Featured This Week on the app's Home screen.
Before and during: After your first Featured purchase, Performance adds a daily views chart and a before-vs-during comparison.
A free waitlist: If every spot in a suburb is taken, join the waitlist. When a spot opens you are notified and have 24 hours to buy it.

The rules that keep it fair

Enough listings first: A suburb needs at least 5 active listings of that type before anything can be Featured, and there is one Featured spot for every 5 listings. At most 3 statewide spots run at once.
One at a time: One active boost per listing and one per account per suburb, with a 7-day wait before re-buying when others are waiting.
What you buy is time: In the app's words: "What you buy is that time, not a promised number of views."

How it works.

How to feature a job ad or business

Check your listing is ready: a phone on your profile, an address that can be found on the map, a name or title of 3 or more words, and at least one photo for a business. A job needs its pay filled in and must be under 5 days old.
In the Android app, open Profile, My Listings and tap Spotlight. On any device, you can use Featured on the web dashboard instead.
Choose the suburbs, or a whole state for a business.
Check the price, which is worked out and shown before you pay.
Pay by card. Your listing shows the Featured badge for 7 days.

Only job ads and businesses can be Featured. Rooms and looking-for-work posts can never be paid to the top.
Featured listings always carry the Featured badge, so members can tell paid placement apart.
The price is worked out on Chaana's server, and the payment is checked before the Featured spot is switched on.
Purchases are final and unused days are not refunded, except where Australian Consumer Law requires it. Marking a job filled or deleting a listing ends its Featured time.
If Chaana hides your listing by mistake, for example over a report that is later dismissed, your Featured time is extended by the time it was hidden.
On iPhone, the app shows no prices; Featured is managed from your Chaana account on the web.
