A Chaana account is free and needs only your name, email, password and suburb. It opens everything in the app, and your profile is where you manage your details, your rooms, jobs, businesses and events, your Views & Contacts, and your privacy, including deleting your account.

What you can do.

Joining

Two steps in the app: Your first name, last name, email and a password of at least 6 characters, then your suburb, so you see listings near you. Confirm your email and sign in.
More options on the website: Say whether you are already in Australia or still in Nepal, add your suburb or arrival date, phone and visa type, and choose an account type: Normal user, Parent or Business owner.
Email and password only: No Google, Apple or phone sign-in. Forgot your password? A 6-digit code comes by email.

Your profile

My Details: Your name, email and password, phone (the number behind your listings' contact buttons), state and suburb (for "my suburb" and "my state"), visa type and profile photo.
Profile completeness: Four checks: suburb and postcode, phone, visa and photo. When all four are done it says "All set".
My Listings: Tabs for your rooms, jobs, business and events, each marked Live, Expired, Taken or Removed by moderator, with Edit, Delete, Mark as taken or filled, Relist, Performance, Spotlight, Add branch, Create banner and Manage extras where they apply.
Views & Contacts: Totals across everything you have posted: views, how many people contacted you, active posts, and where it came from, split by rooms, jobs, business and events.
My Activity: Your appointments and your favourites.
Delete my account: Enter your password, and your businesses, rooms, jobs, events, Saath posts and photos are removed.

How to create a Chaana account

Sign up in the app or on the website with your name, email and a password.
Add your suburb, so listings near you come first.
Confirm your email from the message Chaana sends.
Sign in, then add your phone, visa type and photo under My Details.

How to delete your account

Open Profile, then My Details.
Tap Delete my account.
Enter your password to confirm. Your listings, posts and photos are removed.

How you are protected.

The safety rules and limits, stated plainly.

Your phone number is never printed on a listing. It sits behind the contact buttons.
You can post up to 3 rooms and 3 jobs a day, and 2 new businesses a day, which keeps spam off the boards.
Accounts that break the rules can be suspended for 30 days, then banned, and a banned email or phone cannot sign up again.

Questions people ask.

Do I need an account to use Chaana?

Yes. Everything in the app, including browsing, needs a free account with an email and password. The business directory can be browsed on the website without one.

Can I sign up with Google or my phone number?

No. Chaana uses email and password only, and you confirm your email before you sign in.

Why should I add my phone number?

Your phone is what sits behind the Call, Message and WhatsApp buttons on your listings. Without it, people cannot contact you about your room or job.

How many listings can I post?

Up to 3 room posts and 3 job posts a day, and 2 new businesses a day.

Can I delete my Chaana account?

Yes, from My Details. After you confirm your password, your listings, posts and photos are deleted.
